RULES

Due to your continued support, our school is growing and we now offer classes in the areas of Irvine , Mission Viejo , San Diego and Rancho Cucamonga and Anaheim . However, as we grow we have to maintain some basic rules that need to be followed for the smooth operation of the school.

For details please consult the respective instructor concerned.

Groups are set up generally according to the standard of the students. Preliminary, beginners, intermediate and advance. At any time anybody can attend a group class for watching to get a feel of it by paying $10.

Absences

The teachers and members of the faculty understand that many of the children do attend other activities and may not be able to attend classes at certain times. In such cases, it is the responsibility of the child or parent to make arrangements to attend other classes that may be offered. The class fees are due regardless of whether the student attends or not.

Occasionally, our teachers will have commitments for performances which may result in cancellation of some of the classes. In such cases, your teacher will re-schedule the class and inform you of the cancellation either via phone or e-mail at least two days in advance. For this reason, it is very important to check your voice mail or e-mail a day before coming to class. The students are also advised to do the same in case of their absence. The teacher is usually able to adjust one or two classes but any more absence need to be discussed with the teacher.Absence of extended periods or absence without notification will result in discontinuation of studentship and an re - admission charge may be applied for the student to rejoin the class.

Parents' Participation

Parents may come to class to observe the teaching once in a while and see their child's progress but are asked not to interfere in the teaching. It is requested that your child not be 'nudged' to follow the teacher's instruction as this can be a distraction for other students and can undermine the confidence of the child. Some classes are held in Private residences to give the intimate feel of learning so we further request that the privacy of the host and their property be respected

Workshops and concerts are held throughout the year and students and parents are encouraged to attend them to observe the level of playing and encourage the student.

Practice

Attending classes on a regular basis is important but for continued improvement, it is mandatory to practice regularly at home. As an institute of percussion music, 'Dhwani' pledges to devote itself to the nurturing of a new generation of percussionists wedded to the cause of the cause of promoting 'rhythm' as a concept of total music.

Future Plan:

Our future plan includes such

  • to set up international links with music organization and academies to facilitate student exchange programmes or student placement of organizing a major seminar on world percussion to raise awareness of Indian percussion student about the different approaches to percussion in the world.
  • It also intends to record and release recordings related to percussionist.
  • regular concerts where students will take part,
  • have examinations for students to grade their scale of learning
  • to send selected students to India for performances and learning.
  • However, attending classes on a regular basis is important but for continued improvement, it is mandatory to practice regularly at home. As an institute of percussion music,
  • To that extent, we hope your learning experience has been fun and fulfilling.
