Somnath, is an Innovative versatile percussionist who as made an in-depth study in both north and south Indian style of percussion. An inevitable part of TARANG since its conception and a sought after percussionist in the film industry, Somnath has shared the stage with great maestros of Indian Music and has the privileges of participating in World music festivals like ETNI MALAGA FEST (Spain), India Festival (Belgium).

His keen interest to words the instrument Tabla engaged him in training of Tabla from the age of five years. His training started under the guidance of Sri.Sajal Karmakar.Later he was trained by Pt.Abhijit Banerjee.From then onwards he started to prove himself as an upcoming Tabla Player.

He has completed his Sangit Prabhakar in Tabla from Prayag Sangit Samiti(Allahabad).Some of the major festivals where he has performed are Ramkrishna Mission(Deoghar),Kolkata Doordarshan,Eastern Cultural Society,Kolkata Blind School etc.Besides he is attached to Dhwani Academy of Percussion Music as in charge of a special project-Upliftment of Visually challenged Students.

RANJAN NANDI
He began his music studies at an early age. He is a disciple of a renowned tabla player Abhijit Banerjee. He has completed Master”s in tabla from Rabindra Bharati University at Kolkata. Received a Gold Medal from Bharatiya Sangeet Academy. Moreover, he has performed with many famous artists of India, such as Pandit Manilal Nag, Pandit. Sanjoy Banerjee, Pandit. Buddhadev Dasgupta, Pandit. Dipak Chowdhari, Pandit. Kamal Mullick and many more. He is a teacher at Dhwani Academy at Kolkata and presently teaching at New York. He has taught for six years at the Calcutta blind School. He has been an organizer of the TARANG band of Dhwani Academy.
